Our Mentorship Projects

OAK Foundation forms and administers the PAM Girls Clubs in Senior High Schools in high-risk communities. By high-risk, we mean communities with high rates of female dropout. The PAM Girls Club is the vehicle through which OAK Foundation and its Volunteers offer mentorship and counselling services to young girls. Through this Club, we also provide extra tuition and other academic support services to young girls to enable them to stay in school and perform well in their studies. We also offer leadership training and extra-curricular services to help our girls become school and community leaders.

The components of work activities delivered through the PAM Girls Clubs include:

  • Monthly mentoring modules made up of Safe Sex Education, Studying Skills, Etiquette, Personal Grooming, and related topics
  • Weekend extra classes for final year members in the Core Subjects
  • We list your options by state
  • Regional vacation classes during the summer holidays
  • Annual boot camp at a centralized location

Eagle Ladies Clubs

The Eagle Ladies Club is OAK Foundation’s flagship program targeting young ladies who are enrolled in the various tertiary institutions in Ghana.

It is through the Eagles Ladies Club that we achieve our mission of enhancing the professional and career prospects of young women. We also use this platform to grow female leaders.

The components of work activities delivered through the Eagle Ladies Clubs include:

  • Professional & Career Development training, inclusive of job shadowing and internships
  • Civic & Leadership training and activations, inclusive of sponsorship for student government roles
  • Participation in volunteer activities, particularly serving as Coaches and Mentors of the PAM Girls Club members
  • Participation in local and international exchange programs
  • Participation in donor-funded leadership training programs, e.g. YALI, COADY & GWSLP

The work we do through the PAM Girls’ and Eagle Ladies Club enables us to deliver our objective of reducing drop-out rates of young girls in the Senior High and Tertiary Schools in high-risk communities while improving their pass rate in core subjects. Ultimately, this should set us on the path of producing highly educated professionals and entrepreneurs from these disadvantaged social groups.
