Implementing the OAK-GIZ Youth Enterprise Incubator Project (YEIP)

The Foundation is currently implementing the OAK-GIZ Youth Enterprise Incubator Project (YEIP). The project seeks to contribute to the socio-economic reintegration of 200 returning migrants and unemployed young persons into their communities by supporting them to set up their businesses in the vocational and agricultural sectors to attain sustainable incomes.

Support the youth in the targeted communities

The YEIP will support the youth in the targeted communities to set up small enterprises in the agribusiness and vocational sectors. Through the project, OAK Foundation and its partners hope that the beneficiaries would earn decent incomes and secure their livelihoods.

Specific support interventions under the project would include:

  • Seminars to showcase opportunities in the agribusiness and vocation sectors for sustainable youth employment;
  • Intensive technical and enterprise management skills training;
  • Placement in short-term internships and apprenticeships;
  • Provision of agribusiness and vocational enterprise start-up kits to beneficiaries;
  • Provision of mentoring and advisory services to beneficiaries to make their enterprises profitable and sustainable.
